International Ballet Training at Ajkun Ballet Theatre

The School at Ajkun Ballet Theatre has welcomed international dance students to New York City since 2000. Under the direction of Artistic Director Chiara Ajkun, dancers receive advanced classical training rooted in the Ajkun Methodology while gaining exposure to the professional performing arts environment of the United States.
Our year-round and intensive programs are designed for dedicated students and emerging professionals ages 15–26 and provide structured pathways toward professional development in the U.S. and abroad.
Full-Time & Year-Round Programs
Designed for international dancers seeking professional-level study in the United States.
Trainee Program
(Ages 16+)
Advanced dancers learn the Company’s exclusive repertory while refining technique through the Ajkun Methodology. Participants gain direct exposure to New York City’s professional dance environment. This program meets the standards for H-3 cultural trainee visas.
Pre-Professional Dance Program (Ages 15–17)
For serious international students preparing for advanced or trainee-level study. Intensive technical development, private coaching, and performance opportunities with the Company.
Performance Program (No age limit)
Dancers and dance schools may perform alongside the professional company in select classical productions, such as The Nutcracker.

Dance Teacher Program (Ages 18+)
An integrated field program designed for collegiate and graduate students pursuing careers in dance education. Participants observe and assist within a professional ballet company structure.

Intensive Programs in New York City
Short-term programs designed to immerse dancers in professional-level training.
Summer Program in New York (Ages 14+)
A four-week course focused on technical refinement, repertory, and professional exposure. Housing available.
New York Winter Festival (No age limit)
A week-long workshop and performance showcase open to individual dancers and dance groups. Participants train Monday through Friday and perform Saturday for a panel of New York City professionals.
Dance Tours (Ages 11–28)
International study and performance experiences in Europe and other global destinations with Ajkun Ballet Theatre.
